COLD - Official music video:
Amanda's songwriting career began after a spinal injury that caused her to pull back from her passion of horseback riding. Amanda learned to cope by writing her emotions in journals, an inspiration for her new passion in music and the lyrics of her first songs. Now able to ride again, Markley strives to inspire and give others courage to follow their own dreams. The singer often plays rich and emotionally raw acoustic sets that are a staple of her home-state’s local coffeehouse vibe. When not performing in an intimate setting, Amanda rocks the stage with a full band and is a regular performer at the Hard Rock Cafe, El Corazon, Chop Suey, and other iconic music houses in the Seattle area, sharing the stage with artists such as Aaron Carter, Tyler Ward, William Beckett, and more.
Her first big break came when she sent a rough track of her song “Home” to the talented Scott Krippayne (15 #1 hits recorded by Jordin Sparks, Demi Lovato, Kutless to name a few). Seeing potential, he produced the 2012 album Breathe and co-wrote the track “You and Me”. Full of inspiration, borne out of her personal struggles with anxiety disorder and panic attacks, the album is about finding your purpose, trying to believe in yourself and not giving up, no matter what the odds are.
Following her 2014 EP Monster, featuring her hit single "Cold” Markley has been busy writing new music and recording at Rainmaker Studios with producer Chase Manhattan (Night Argent) on her forthcoming EP, to be released later this fall. To give fans a peek at the EP, Amanda Markley is releasing the debut single “Jealousy” digitally for download on July 14th.
